The A-TeamOn the Wings of Angels

Alzheimer's, joint pain, caregiving, changing living situations, driving ability, isolation... it would take a miracle for a person to keep up with all the changes brought about by the aging process. When it comes to caring for seniors there is a group of "angels" that will look over you - the Senior Assessment Team. This team of professionals provide a comprehensive service to seniors that cannot be found anywhere else in Hampton Roads.

Three Outcomes
"The unique, and important thing about the assessment program," according to seniors advocate and program director Steve Zollos, "is that it results in three critically important outcomes: First, seniors receive a truly comprehensive evaluation and explanation concerning their current condition; Second, as a result, caregivers are able to care for seniors with more confidence; and finally, since the team works in conjunction with primary care physicians, your physician is able to care for you more effectively."

Making a Difference
"At first physicians were reluctant to refer to our program," explains Jill Mitchell, the program supervisor, "but now that our effectiveness has been proven we regularly receive referrals from many of the area's leading physicians. They realize that we really make a difference in their ability to care for their senior patients."

Reputation
The assessment team's reputation is also spreading by word of mouth. "Now that we have helped so many seniors and their caregivers in our community," says the program's Nurse Practitioner, Sister Margaret Mathewson, "our reputation is being spread from person to person. We've actually had caregivers shed tears of gratitude for the help that they have received here."

Aging can be difficult but you don't have to go it alone. Let these 'angels' help you age gracefully. Call the assessment team directly at 889-4999 and they will explain how the program works in detail and send you information too. They will be a God-send.
