1) Discovering New Worlds
Explore the wonderful possibilities available to you in the working and educational worlds. Sign up for “Discovering New Worlds” workshop. Presented by Jane Sulzberger, Director, and Eleanor Hill, Steering Committee President, of Christopher Newport University’s Lifelong Learning Society and Susan Deaver, District Assistant for Wal-Mart.

2) Community Impact
Learn how seniors are impacting their community and the environment. Ask for the “Community Impact” workshop when you register. Presented by John Skirven, Executive Director of Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, Gloria Ragland, Coordinator of Training and Recruitment from the Barry Robinson Center’s therapeutic foster care program, and Jane Beavers, Vice President of the Virginia Beach Audubon Society.

3) Bodies ‘n Motion

Many people have the notion that after 65 it’s “all down hill.” Well nothing can be further from the truth. Learn how you can maintain flexibility through deep joint movement, improve balance and coordination, build overall strength, recover from falls, and minimize joint pain despite your age or activity level.

Join Laura Eagle and Joanne Merinar, Senior Health and Wellness Coordinators, as they discuss how aging affects the body and show you how to revitalize your health through the exciting new Bodies ‘n Motion program. Come experience this fun and interactive session, sign up for the “Bodies ‘n Motion” workshop.

4) Political Influence
Learn how seniors are becoming a real political power. Whether you choose to run for office, volunteer your time to help get an official elected, or simply want to let your opinion be heard, this is the workshop for you.

This workshop features a panel of elected officials who will help you better understand how to be involved and how to be effective in influencing your government officials. John Stone, Bon Secours Virginia Vice President of Advocacy, will facilitate the session.
