Everyone has a hero, someone they look up to, admire, or have been positively influenced by. Who's your senior hero?

Nominate your spouse, your mother, your father, your grandparents, your neighbor, your work associate, a church member, or a friend, for the prestigious 2007 Senior Hero Award. Nominees must be at least 65 years old and currently residing in Hampton Roads. The winner will receive a trophy, recognition in Senior Health Magazine, and a $200 VISA gift card.

Where can you find a senior hero? That's easy, they're everywhere! Just take a look around you and you'll see someone you know who is worthy to be honored. This award will go to a senior based on their: commitment to family, dedication to improving the lives of others, time given for volunteering, community service, and dedication to improving the environment.

We will also be awarding the 2007 Senior Organization of Virginia Award to a church, business, or organization that has gone above and beyond in order to serve a senior or our community. If your church, your bank, your club, a business professional, or other organization has been of particular help to you, or to other seniors, then take this opportunity to show your appreciation by nominating their organization for the 2007 Senior Organization of Virginia Award.

Both Awards will be presented by our keynote speaker and all nominees will be recognized at the 9th annual Successful Aging Forum in April 2007.
