In-Home Respite Care Gives Caregivers a Break

Taking a break is important, but caregivers often find it difficult to get away. In-Home Respite Care, a Catholic Charities program, provides caregivers with a short-term break…and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their family member is safe.

A trained respite worker will care for your loved one.
In-Home Respite Care will assign a trained respite worker to stay with your loved one, assuring the client’s safety, assisting with meals and toileting, and offering companionship. Respite workers undergo full background checks. The program is available at a subsidized cost to all adults 60 years or older living in the home of their primary caregiver. Services are available in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton and Newport News.
