Waves gently splash against the side of the ship. Gigantic chains clang in rhythm, the smell of saltwater waifs through the air and squawking seagulls flit across the sunlit sky. You watch the excited passengers scurry up the gangplank and suddenly, you spot your friend. Beaming, she turns to smile and wave. In that moment, you think of all she has done to bring comfort and happiness to others and how much she deserves this cruise. And then, you remember how easy it was to nominate her for the Senior Hero Award. It only took a few minutes of your time and now she has a memory that will endure forever.
Know someone making a difference?
Bon Secours Senior Health is looking for that special person to recognize as our 2010 Senior Hero of Virginia. Nominate the senior citizen who has made a difference in your life, or the lives of others, for the prestigious 2010 Senior Hero Award. The winner will receive a trophy, recognition in Senior Health Magazine, and a one-week cruise for two, donated by Cruise Planners Plus.
Nominate a senior organization
As in past years, Bon Secours Senior Health is searching for local organizations in Hampton Roads that make a difference in the lives of seniors to recognize as our 2010 Senior Organization of Virginia. If a local organization has helped you, your church, or club, show your appreciation by nominating that organization for the 2010 Senior Organization of Virginia Award. The winner will be presented with a trophy at the Successful Aging Forum and receive over $5,000 in free advertising in the Senior Living Guide and Senior Health Magazine.

Submission Deadline: All nominations must be received by March 31, 2010
Hero nominees must be at least 65 years old and currently reside in Hampton Roads.
Organization nominees must be a local organization currently conducting business in Hampton Roads.

The 2010 Senior Hero of Virginia Award will be presented at the 2010 Successful Aging Forum, and all nominees will be recognized at this event. Past winners include Marion Croall, Ruby Walden, Eleanor Cannon, Frances Sledge, Ercell Jackson, Leroy Ober, and Marilyn Fall. The 2010 Senior Organization of Virginia Award will be presented at the Pre-Forum Dinner.
